Autumn, What's not to love?

Oh I do love me some Fall weather.  It has finally arrived in all of it's glory.  I love the simple things, things which are one of a kind like a rainbow, or the way a cloud forms, the leaves and how they change and adapt to their season being over.  Storing up sugar for the next generation of beauties to be formed in the spring.

Baked me some sugar cookies this evening, well, they are not for me, tomorrow is our pumpkin carving evening, and we have always had homemade cookies and cider while we transformed our punkins into jack o lanterns. This year is no exception, the boys are older now and still want to what was such a hoot when they were wee ones...another simple joy. And don't forget them punkin seeds? Roast them in the oven, they are good for you also. We'll put them Jack O Lanterns out on the front porch, where the squirrel can have a really good meal, and my deer friends too. Everybody wins 😃

We visited a punkin farm, arn't they adorable? Just like people all shapes and sizes.
I'm not a big fan of cut and roll out, but found a sugar cookie recipe which is a drop kind, I'll share the recipe with you, I don't recall anymore where I found it so I could give credit. It's been years and years making these.

Drop Sugar Cookie
350 10 minutes ( approx) each oven is different

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter softened( I use unsalted), either works fine
you will cream these together then add the following:
1egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
You will sift the following together
2 1/4 cup flour
 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp salt ( I use Morton Sea Salt) it has natural nutrients. Regular table salt is just Sodium Chloride, you get more from the salt with the nutrients. You use whatever you choose, I'm just saying...
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup oil ******see how to add this below*****
1/2 cut nuts ( optional)
Alternate the flour mixture and oil into the creamed mixture. Drop by tsp, I layer my baking sheet with parchment paper. (optional) Flatten each dropped cookie with a glass dipped in sugar. You will most likely dip after each press or the glass will stick to the dough.

If you have a glass with a pretty bottom, like you will see the depression in the cookie.

A little note about Sea Salt, I have been diagnosed with AFIB, which makes your heart rock and roll. I've cut out soda's, and changed the salt I use, which I have cut way back on. I am reading a book
called the Magnesium Miracle by  Carolyn Dean MD. Did you know that most of us are walking around with a Magnesium deficiency, and it causes all kinds of havoc in our bodies.
I have exchanged thetype of salt I use.  I still use less, but have the added benefit of the Magnesium in what I do use,
End of that lecture!

Well that's about it for now, I have a project on the hook with yarn, but am thinking of starting and Irish Crochet Rose Potholder with thread
This is one I started some time ago, and never finished the project
 and so it goes :)
