About Me

My photo
I'm a lover of vintage times and simple elegance of another era. I'm waiting a while for my special little farmhouse. While I'm waiting, I'm making good use of my time creating lovlies with my crochet hook n thread or yarn, and baking and cooking from scratch for my family.

The Guardian Angel

Take your needle my child and
work at your pattern it will come out a
rose by and by. Life is like that...one
stitch at a time taken patiently.

I'm looking forward to these beauties...

Rose of Sharon...
we have a few around the yard..the flowers are lovely arn't they?  They are budding up right now and come late June early July the bushes will be loaded with these... This picture is from one of our bushes last year.

Oh I love these flowers Ethel! They really are beautiful when in full bloom. We don't have a yard at all where we live now.. so no flowers, no birds.. And it gets me down sometimes, but I try not to LET it. That's where counting my blessings gets me through it... Now if only my medications would get me through the allergy season, THAT would REALLY boost me in the right direction!.. Hope all is well with you too! Whatever you're doin', have a great weekend! ~Lucy

Is it a Rose of Sharon hibiscus. I have a huge bush in my yard that is over 35 years old. Beautiful blooms all year--of course I am in Florida.

Too have a Rose of Sharon beside my front deck. You know for years I clipped it way back, but last year I left it alone and wow I'm glad I did...it's very tall, strong, and buds all over it. Mine is white...love the color of yours!!! Blessings
