Vintage Crochet Lines

About Me

My photo
I'm a lover of vintage times and simple elegance of another era. I'm waiting a while for my special little farmhouse. While I'm waiting, I'm making good use of my time creating lovlies with my crochet hook n thread or yarn, and baking and cooking from scratch for my family.

Take your needle my child and
work at your pattern it will come out a
rose by and by. Life is like that...one
stitch at a time taken patiently.

A late evening post...

Normally at this time, after supper, I've settled in & homework issues to move the hook. I've got the supper dishes done, but have some bread in the rise. We have 1 loaf left and I'm working the next 3 days again...time flies.  My little guy ( not so much anymore) is off to Cub Scouts with Dad. He said his shirt is getting tight and it is..we bought that shirt when he started cub scouts, and the lady told us he should make it all the way through with the same shirt....she was right...this is his last year in Cubby's...Boy Scouts is next..I don't know if he is moving on or not, we are leaving it up to him.

I did finish up the crinoline lady I posted about a few weeks ago..now she has arms. That is all that I have done all week. I've decided to pick up where I left off umpteen years aga and delve into the old family tree again.  In my search, I hooked up with a 2nd cousin..who is also looking for info..although he has way more than I do.  My history is Ireland, Germany & Hungary..I'm thinking the latter may be more difficult then the former.

No more to offer other than that his day.. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend....

Got the coffee on Ethel? (0; I thought I'd stop by on this beautiful Saturday afternoon, just to say "Hi, how are ya?!" After that, I think Dear Son and I will take the dog for a walk; and then I just might bake some cookies. I came across a new recipe I'm curious to try. My cookie jar is EMPTY at the moment, and this, of course, is simply unacceptable! (And I know how much Dear Daughter likes peeking in it to see what she can sneak out of there, whenever she stops over, so I can't let her down!) Hope you and your family are enjoying your weekend! Fresh-baked bread sounds wonderful, so I may be back sooner than you think! Thanks for the coffee! ~lucy
