About Me

My photo
I'm a lover of vintage times and simple elegance of another era. I'm waiting a while for my special little farmhouse. While I'm waiting, I'm making good use of my time creating lovlies with my crochet hook n thread or yarn, and baking and cooking from scratch for my family.

Simple Woman Day Book Entry

FOR TODAY February 14, 2015

Outside my window... Old Man Winter is visiting again, the wind is whipping the snow into frothy mounds in the front yard, visibility is low.

I am thinking...It is so nice to be inside looking out and not having to go out today for any reason.

I am thankful...warmth and protection from these elements.
In the kitchen...Cinnamon Raisen Bread courtesy of Mennonite Girls Can cook.

I am wearing...soft comfy cozies, and if the truth be known shh...I'm still in my flannel p.j's.

I am creating...finishing up when I get a moment the cowl poncho, I've not moved the hook all week, life lessons going on.

I am going...finish up the cowl poncho loose ends, and thinking about working on the pillow for a friend who gave me beautiful crochet motif squares as a thank you.

I am wondering what else I may want to do today as the wind howls outside.

I am reading... my son's 7th grade math book, they didn't make them like this when I was growing up or I may have done better in math.
I am hoping...begin a project of some kind, usually crochet, I miss moving my hook.

I am looking forward to...the aroma which will soon be lingering about the homestead cinnamon raison and bread hmmmmm
I am learning... algebra as I help my son. Distributive Properties, and order of operations, we are both learning.

Around the house...My husband is sleeping because he works (seasonally) at night and has been on 12 hour shifts plowing snow for he county. Would be nice if they would consider him for full time.

I am pondering...craft fair ideas for the fall

A favorite quote for today...We are shaped and formed by what we love

One of my favorite things...the smell of the bread baking in my oven, warming not only my kitchen but our hearts as well.

A few plans for the rest of the week: we'll see how this plays out.

Hi, I love the smell of baking bread and I too am in my pj's. We have been lucky and no snow to speak of this year, but that is about to change. Today it is cold and windy with a winter weather storm warning..4-8. I know that isn't alot compared to the east. Here in southern Indiana, trust me 4-8 inches is alot. Stay warm..and have a cup of tea. Many blessings.

Your Valentines hearts are pretty. Enjoy your winter weather. We were nearly 80 yesterday, but we are supposed to get a blast of winter this week. Look at that old doily! NICE!
